Learning a lot on my trip!
Hi Carla,
I hope you are doing well and everything is OK at home. I really like Corpus
Christi so far. It’s a beautiful city. The ocean is always nearby. This morning
I woke up to the sound of the waves on the beach. It was so peaceful and
relaxing. And when I looked out the window, I saw the sun rising across the
bay. The water was sparkling. It looked so clean and fresh. I felt like I was on
vacation, not here for work!
But of course, I’ve been really busy here. Jae and I went to Oceanside Hospital
today to observe their food service department. The hospital’s new cafeteria
opened today. It’s really nice. They put a lot of thought into it. The first thing
I noticed when I arrived in the cafeteria was the smell of bread baking. The
cafeteria has a bakery, and they make cinnamon rolls every morning. The rolls
taste as good as they smell. They’re so sweet and buttery. There are other nice
things about the cafeteria, too. They have art on the walls showing beach scenes,
and they play quiet, calming music. When Jae and I get back to Park View, we’re
going to try out some of these ideas.
After a long day at the hospital, we returned to the hotel for a break before dinner.
I went down to the beach alone to relax. I walked along the beach for an hour or
so. The sand was still warm from the sun. It felt great to sift it through my hands.
I also found a lot of beautiful shells which are as smooth as glass and have rich
colors. I’m bringing some home for you.
I miss you and wish you were here. Next time, let’s plan a vacation here if we can!
Your loving husband,
Frank
