EXPANDING WORLD
Kaleidoscope World, the cultural exchange
organisation, is expanding its network of
destinations. Founded back in the 1960s, it has
been operating cultural exchange programmes
to over thirty countries for the past fifty years.
These give people aged 18–25 the opportunity to
experience a completely different culture from
their own for a short time. The visits have been
highly praised for their benefits by academics
and writers. Funding comes partly from
government grants and partly from donations.
A spokesman explained, ‘In these troubled
times, Kaleidoscope World has decided to
increase its activities and reach out to young
people all across the world.’
